H1N1

School reopened as scheduled this monday amidst public fears. We take temperature twice daily, and students with flu-like symptons were sent home. Those who returned from affected areas were issued LOA, while some others who returned from non-affected areas took self-LOA when they develop flu-like symptons.

All went well in my class until today. 8 students were absent from school. 5 had flu-like symptons, 1 was sent home immediately because she was unwell the day before, and still coughing badly. 1 on AYG duty and another 1 took self-LOA. School was very concerned with my class today and monitored them very closely. Too many to be sick in one day. Hope all recover well.

Some misconceptions students had:

1) To call 993 immediately if develop flu-like symptons. (when in fact, only those who arrived from affected area and develop the symptons within 7 days are to take this measure).

2) To call 933.

Non-H1N1 misconceptions that my 2 HCL classes had:

Michael Jackson passed away due to plastic surgery complications.
Lesson learnt: NEVER GO FOR PLASTIC SURGERY because it can lead to death.
